Introduction

The name “Calafell” means “small castle”, and we first found in a document written in 999 AD. This charming town is located at the heart of Baix Penedès region, the gateway to the Costa Daurada. It is a considered one of the leading world's largest international tourism.

Iberians and Romans, Arabs and feudal lords, they are all part of the history of Calafell. As a Mediterranean opened town, Calafell blends the richness of his heritage with the powerful draw of five miles of golden sand beaches.
The town has the environmental certification UNE-EN ISO 14001:2004 and EMAS recently certificate granted by the European Union.

The Iberian Citadel, the Casa Barral Museum, the lifeboat, Sant Miquel Church or the Holy Cross Castle are some of the evidences of the history to guide us through time to present. There is a coexistence with music, sports, the sea and a good meal with the fresh taste of the sea like the "arrossejat", the traditional "xató" or the sweet taste of our typical desserts, the "cossetans."

We can not forget that Calafell has the Family Holiday Destination (FHD) certification from the Catalan government (Generalitat), which means that we have a range of accommodation and restaurants adapted to the needs of families and a wide range of leisure and entertainment available. On the other hand, Calafell is also a member of the Active Tourism Club with activities such as Nordic Walking, trekking and mountain biking BTT (free of charge and with certified guides).

Undoubtedly... you will experience a whole world of sweet sensations in Calafell. Come and enjoy them. We are waiting for you!
