Enjoy the 3 miles of golden sand, the iodine-rich waters and of course the many water activities you can practice on them.
The three beaches and the seafront Calafell promenade were the first in Catalonia to receive ISO 14001 certification by the certification body AENOR in 2003.
In 2006, ISO 14001:2004 the system were recertified by the same entity and in March 2008, the town’s environmental management system earned EMAS certification from the European Union.
Our beaches have the blue flag since 1992 in collaboration with Diputació de Tarragona.
Calafell beaches are ideal for family tourism. Calafell had been known as “feeding bottle beach” from long time ago. This was due to the quality of the sand and water, the calmness of the sea and the smoothness of the slopes as it enters in the sea.
It is an ideal place to spend a few days with family and friends. The town’s beaches offer the following access facilities:
•12 adapted concrete walkways, as well as accessible showers from them.
• Disabled parking spaces closed to the beach.
• Beach wheelchair baths with the assistance of Red Cross personnel.
* Children’s play areas
• Buoy lines to delimit the swimming area with boat channels for incoming and outgoing watercraft.
• Hire of sun loungers, awnings, skates, etc.
